We caught up with critically acclaimed guitarist Charlie Hunter ahead of his performance at the Iowa City Jazz Festival for a quick chat about his musical origins, his unique 7-string combo bass/electric guitar, and his new group Omaha Diner.

Hunter was joined by his long-time collaborator, drummer Scott Amendola, for his performance on the main stage at the Iowa City Jazz Festival for what was surely a crowd favorite. Every guitarist in Iowa was was likely in attendance to see this event.
